Technology in plumbing and mechanical systems has become a viable alternative
to conventional pipe joining methods like soldering or threaded connections.
The
presentation will start with a brief history of piping systems followed by an
overview of the latest federal regulations for materials in piping systems.
Today press-connect fittings are available for multiple applications in
residential, commercial and industrial piping systems. The main part of the
presentation will focus on the applications, features and benefits of Press
Technology and a comparison to traditional pipe joining methods like soldering
and threading. In addition attendees will learn about how press fittings are
tested and referenced in federal and local codes.
Mr.
Rudi Tillmann is the Sales Engineer for Viega responsible for Viega’s technical
support in the northeast region. He works closely with engineers and code
officials to ensure that Viega’s products are specified and approved for the
intended applications.
Rudi
has been with Viega for over 13 years where he held positions as a product
designer, product manager. He currently holds the position as Sales Engineer.
Rudi holds a bachelor degree in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of Applied Science Cologne, Germany. He is an
active member of the Boston ASPE and ASHRAE chapter
